Cool Dad!

Here we have it folks - after a long wait, Hollywood has finally produced some more CLEAN comedy that everybody can enjoy. Ben Burnsord's newest film, Cool Dad! puts the FAMILY back in COMEDY! The plot is hilarious in itself, a duller-than-rocks single dad becomes the hit of the town with the help of a scientific formula... but the catch is that he is even MORE embarrassing to his bully target son as a cool dad!

Now, I watched this film with my nephew and niece who think of me as their kind of "cool" uncle so many of these jokes hit especially close to home! I was reminded of the time when I brought them over to check out my HDTV for the first time and their friends all asked to come over and play video games (this is also in the movie). Tim Allen brings his "A" game as usual, playing the dad we all wish we had! After the 30 minute mark, you will be sure to remember his trademark sunglasses that he wears through the rest of the movie. Dad starts off funny as clowns but it gets to be a little bit of a tear-jerker near the end. It's really a roller-coaster ride, without all the sickness afterwards! When Dad gets emotional, it does it fast. They have to come up with a cure for his formula but Tim Allen can't figure it out because his intelligence is slowly leaving him. Teddy Davis is as brilliant in his preteen years as he was at 7 years old in Two Wheel Dad. He lends some emotion to his character and the audience gets very attached especially near the end. Now THIS is where it gets interesting (more than it has been already)! There are four different endings and I am not sure which one is the real one. I don't want to spoil it for you readers, but I think it might be a pick-your-own-ending deal.

Anyway thank you for reading! Watch this movie with some popcorn (maybe if YOUR Cool Dad buys you a popcorn machine like in the movie!) on your HDTV (if your Cool Dad can shell out the bucks for it!) and relax on your comfortable zebra print couch (likewise!)! I will give this movie four and a half stars. It's great to see Burnsord making family classics again!
